Autobiography My name is O O (O O-O). I was born in O and later moved to O. There are four people in my family: my parents, my older sister and me. My father is the general manager of a foreign company’s local branch, and my mother is a sales manager at an insurance company. My sister works in sales and marketing at the same company as my mother. At university, under my mother’s guidance, I became interested in finance and chose the Department of O for my minor, while I majored in O O. In my free time, I enjoy reading magazines and watching TV programs related to finance and economics. I also attained a Securities Specialist license and am a qualified life insurance agent. In order to improve my language skills, I went to England during my OOOO summer vacation to attend some English language courses. I immersed myself in a culture and language environment that were completely different from what I had been used to in Taiwan. I experienced some culture shock, but survived. My open-minded nature helped me adapt to the new environment; ever since I was young, I have been very independent, so I was up to speed after just a few days. The experience not only gave me more confidence in my English communication skills, but also broadened my horizons as I got to know some foreign friends. After graduating from university, I worked as a sales assistant in an international trading company. My duties included helping customers find the exact products they needed efficiently and promptly. This involved determining precise customer requirements, making inquiries with suppliers and providing continuous feedback to the customer, managing all shipping and customs details as well as handling various trade exhibition duties. More recently recently I have been working for an automotive electronic components company as a sales assistant. My job initially involved ensuring timely delivery of goods, even when factory shutdowns occurred. The experience I gained in this position honed my communication skills in liaising between customers and manufacturers. The added responsibility of compiling weekly turnover and overdue accounts receivable statements, in addition to contributing to the annual strategic planning process, taught me the value of patience and attentiveness. When a colleague who was working as project manager went on maternity leave, I volunteered to take over her duties. Although the workload and pressure increased, it enabled me to improve my communication and co-ordination skills and gain valuable experience. Apart from improving my problem-solving skills, I also learned to take on more challenging tasks and work independently. My goal in applying for this job is to gain more practical work experience, prove that I can perform my duties responsibly and diligently, and contribute to the company. In my spare time I plan to further enhance my work-related abilities. Looking forward to hearing from you soon. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
I added your name more prominently at the top of your resume to make it easier for a prospective employer to see whose information they are dealing with.
I also cleaned up the formatting to make the information easier to see and make the resume look more organized and professional.
In the Employment History section, I changed “to be on the job” to reflect that you are currently working there, and moved your current job to the top, since it is more common to list your employment history starting from your current job and working back in time.
In the Special Skills section, I changed “Hokenese” to Hoklo, which is a more common spelling. Please check if this is the correct language! It also seems that you are more than bilingual, so I changed the language section to reflect that.
I removed the part about your parents being at work a lot and this making you independent, since it seems a bit awkward, but when you mention your independent nature again later on, it makes more sense.
“hope to be given the opportunity to present myself at an interview” might be slightly presumptuous, so I changed it to: “Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.”
