Biography

I was born in O City, where I live in a warm and peaceful setting with my mother and a cat. My mother works at a self-funded trading company.
My curious personality has driven my yearning for new knowledge and skills since my childhood, thus I took advantage of my leisure time to learn swimming, in-line skating, and website design, while my classmates were all busy with cram school – specialized classes held after normal school hours at learning centers. By taking time to fully comprehend concepts, maintaining critical thinking skills, and logically analyzing the knowledge I gained, I was accepted into the BBA finance programme at O O University (OO), the top-ranked institute of higher learning in Taiwan.
At college, I kept an open mind towards everything. Meanwhile, I cultivated my interest in the field of finance where I even began doing my personal bookkeeping using accounting principles that I learned in classes, and also started investing in mutual funds. My tenures as the O Department of Finance Student Council’s CFO and captain of the department’s swimming team allowed me to further develop my organizational skills.
To expand my international horizons, I went to O for short-term language classes in 2007. Confident in my knowledge of various languages, I volunteered in assisting a Japanese foreign exchange student through O’s Office of International Affairs in 0000. That summer, I was hired by O Research Institute, Japan’s largest business consulting firm, as an intern, where I learned about applying in-depth corporate solution insights from the standpoint of a consultant.
In addition to my Japan-related experiences, my proficiency in English has enabled me to closely follow news and current affairs in the West and thus develop an open mind towards cultures, an indispensable trait in any career field.
Following graduation, I was a budget officer when I undertook compulsory military service, during which I was assigned the rank of second lieutenant. My experiences in the military taught me tremendously about interpersonal communication skills as well as financial budget management in the public sector. After military service, I joined O as an auditor where I was mostly responsible for financial reports and internal control for financial institutions. I was also involved in an IPO auditing case in Thailand.
As a result of my college and work experience, I have developed sharp financial knowledge and strong capabilities in providing organizational solutions. I can also absorb a wide variety of information as well as effectively apply solutions to any kind of problem.

修改建議:
Overall a focused and comprehensive resume and autobiography. I felt the language used in the resume and autobiography were a little too passive so I changed some words/phrases to make Daniel sound more assertive. For example, prospective employers are not particularly interested in an applicant who’s stated objective is to “apply” for a job as an RA (which, by the way, should be written out). Employers already know you are applying for a job, so I changed that part to “To work as an RA…” It’s a minor thing, but what prospective employers are looking from an applicant is certainty and concreteness.
O included the different aspects of your life in the autobiography and provided examples of how different parts of your life have equipped you for a future job. However, when applying for a job in the West, personal information that is not relevant to the job in question, such as living with your mother and a cat, or what your mother does, is not necessary for an autobiography. Taiwanese employers may want an autobiography, but Western companies request cover letters.
