BIOGRAPHY

It is indeed a great pleasure to have this opportunity to introduce myself to you. My name is O Fang. I have a bachelor of science degree, majoring in international business from O O University of Technology. I finished my master of business administration degree at O University.

In my student days, I participated in a marketing competition called “O , Who are the successors?” We ranked number 50 out of 350 teams in the contest. In the first round, we introduced ourselves with a magazine advertisement. In the second round, we completed a proposal by collecting information on an industry visity. I used to be a research assistant with my teacher about 18 months during my student days. I worked in O full-time for three months and part-time for 27months. I learned a lot about communication skills and how to make a good article. Now I have worked at O-MART for about 13 months.
I am a supervisor of the shoe department. I have three employees and my division has achieved NT$2,000,000 in sales.

According to Dr. Drucker’s “Managing Oneself”, a person has to respond in her own life, to devote herself to the best position, to learn and contribute her capability, to take care of relationship networks, and to plan for the future. I am anxious to apply my knowledge and devotion to my career. I am looking for a career that offers challenge, and an opportunity to learn while I am still young. I hope I can be a part of your company’s growth.

It’s not clear what ‘superior’ at RT mart means. Do you mean ‘supervisor’?

Often in your resume, you put a space before a comma (,) when there shouldn’t be one. This may seem like a small thing, but it shows a potential boss you may lack an attention to detail so try to remember.

It was not clear what you meant by “collecting information from visiting industry”. I’ve guessed you made a visit and collected information, but I’m not sure.

The weakest thing about your resume is your lack of experience. However, you actually have a lot of experience – you just didn’t put it in the resume! The experiences that you mention in your biography should be included in your resume – the research assistant experience and the O contest and especially the experience at O! A potential boss sees hundreds of resumes every day so you need to show him or her your best experience quickly and easily in the resume so they want to interview you. Don’t make them read your whole biography to find your experience – they probably don’t have time.

As I read about your O Mart experience, I wonder – are you working at one branch or are you working in the headquarters. Be sure to include that information in the resume. Also, your resume says you worked at O Mart until Feb. 2011. Be sure to indicate if you still work there or not by saying ‘Aug 2009 to Present’

Good luck in your job search!
