半導體工程師
1~5年經驗/碩士/電機電子維護學類
My name is O-O O. I am from O City, Taiwan. I am seeking a position as a semiconductor engineer, a job for which I have accumulated O months’ relevant, full-time work experience. I have a Baccalaureate Degree in electrical engineering in addition to a Master’s Degree, specialising in the physical features of transistor devices. Your company offers exactly the kind of environment I feel I can thrive in, as a leader in the exciting field of high-tech, an area for which I have a great passion. After graduating from high school, I attended O O University in Taiwan, majoring in electrical engineering. Besides working to acquire academic knowledge, I joined the department’s O team, during which time we won several competitions. During a stint as class spokesperson, I developed my skills in verbal expression and persuasion. After graduating, I started working at the R.O.C. O O Academy, serving as an air force reservist. Major duties included word processing and environmental maintenance. The experience helped me to improve my personal skills, especially patience and perseverance. Subsequently, I began working at O O O Company as an equipment engineer where I was responsible for the troubleshooting issues with respect to OOO tools (Producer). The experience taught me a lot about the importance of good communication skills. I also learned that it is sometimes necessary to change my perspective and approach when tackling a problem. Following long-term consideration and discussion with my parents and supervisor, I decided to study for a masters diploma because I thought it would be beneficial to my future career. While studying for my master’s degree at the Department of O at National O O University, I focused on research into the electrical properties of semiconductor devices and material analysis. My instructor was Professor O-O O, an exacting teacher who placed a great emphasis on logical thinking, communication skills — and especially on maintaining the correct attitude. Under Professor O's guidance and after a lot of hard work, I completed my masters thesis. While growing up, my father taught me the importance of diligence, perseverance, and patience. How he treats his career and life has had a great influence on the way I think and react when facing difficulties and frustrations. My schoolmates and colleagues say that I am a self-motivated, creative, enthusiastic, and responsible person. My hobbies are playing baseball, basketball, hiking, watching movies, and listening to music. I have a strong thirst for new knowledge and I hope to be part of an industry that leads the way with cutting-edge technologies, while continuing to learn and grow. Your company is the leader in its field and has an excellent career structure to promote employees’ development — it is the kind of organisation I dream of working for. I hope you will allow me an opportunity to contribute to your company.
A great cover letter: well thought out and tailored specifically to the company you are applying to - well done!
Ensure that you include only relevant information so that your cover letter does not become too long. Example 1: “I was born and grew up in O District, O City, Taiwan (R.O.C.).” You can shorten this to: I am from O City, Taiwan.
Example 2: “…my younger brother plan to prepare the civil service examinations.” A Western employer reading your cover letter would probably think that this is superfluous information: they want to know about you, not what your younger brother is doing!
Ensure that you sequence the paragraphs in a logical way. After the initial introductory paragraph, you should move on to detail education and work experience, then finish with personal attributes, hobbies and future goals.
