Dear Sir or Madam,

My name is Chen O-O and my English name is Hedy. There are four people in my family. As my family is simple, I learned to be independent and take care of others when I was young.

I majored in Public Finance in university. My working experiences includes different jobs such as serving as an accountant and sales person. I really enjoy challenging and different things, especially interacting with people. Through interaction, I can know all kinds of people and learn from them.

As for my personality, I am friendly, active and outgoing. In my view, smiling and politeness are two ways to communicate with people, especially in the service industry. To be a responsible employee and never afraid of hard work are essential.

My hobbies include playing piano and guitar, listening to the music, reading, swimming and travel. Furthermore, I am a volunteer for the Taiwan O O O (O). We usually hold events to develop the guide dog program on the weekends.

Continuous learning is the (power for progressing) (key to progress?). I will contribute my work experience, learning and new ideas with enthusiasm to your company.

Thank you for your time!

This well-constructed resume demonstrates solid English skills. Well done! However, there are still a few areas for improvement. First, for the bullet points in the employment history section, the convention is to start each bullet point with a verb. ‘Monitor overseas product orders’ is a good example. For some of the others, ‘Customer Credit Management’, ‘Fund estimates and dispatching’, for example, there is no verb so it’s not clear what you do with these things. Do you review them? Do you prepare them? Do you supervise them? Are you totally responsible for them? Do you assist someone who is responsible for them? A bit more information would be helpful. Meanwhile, there are too many bullet points. Each job should have a minimum of three and, ideally, an absolute maximum of five points. Once we get into 7, 8, 9 points, the reader’s eyes glaze over and they’re no longer really reading what you’re saying. Also, it looks like you’re trying to artificially inflate your experience so don’t do that. So let’s consolidate some of these points, for example ‘Assisted with HR, IT support and general administration functions’. Another way to do this is to say “Other work areas include: X, Y, Z” . Meanwhile, resume’s are meant to be brief so there’s no need to put a period at the end of each bullet point. The name at the top of your resume is Chen O O. Written this way, it’s not entirely clear what your family name is. If you write Chen O-O, then it’s clear your family name is Chen. Your autobiography helps the reader know you better and you come across as being friendly and hard-working and with a good attitude. Most of the changes I made were to make the language sound more fluent and natural. I wasn’t sure what you meant by ‘power to progressing’ and wonder if maybe you meant ‘key to progress.’ All in all, a good job! Good luck with your job search!
